Richmond

Ok, not only were we slacking on the blog but we dropped the ball with the camera this week too.

We were in Richmond VA for about four days. My mom flew out from CA for the week and we were able to spend alot of time with an uncle and his family that we haven't been able to see in a looong time.

Zoe had a great time with Noni, Todd, Tami, Kirby, Kendle, Kennedy, and of course whoo-hoo (chance the dog who she renamed). It was great to have babysitters, I mean family around this week. Missy and I actually made it out to dinner by ourselves twice. It was very strange to sit and chew a whole plate of food . . .

Alot of this week was for maintenance - the Sequoia had its 15000 mile overhaul. Kes had his 2 month check up and vaccinations - amazing baby as usual - only cried about 10 minutes after the shots, then back to baseline. He is up to just over 12 lbs, his head is in the 60% (a little tiny for a Buenz), but his height is up to 75%. And Missy had her post baby check up too. Everyone passed with flying colors. Zoe and I dodged the doctor bullet on this go around.

Everyone gathered in the kitchen while Zoe entertained us putting candles in the birthday cake.

We made it into downtown Richmond for some history. Visited the Confederate White House and the Civil War Museum (southern style). The two are adjacent and have been completely overtaken by VCU medical campus. We saw a bunch of dental and medical students walking around in scrubs. That coupled with the normal university medical campus patient population and lack of parking made both Missy and I shudder that we were back at the Chicago Medical campus. But it was great that neither of us had scrubs on or anywhere to go actually except feed the meter. :)
The museum was fun, very interesting, and you got the idea that they still aren't over losing that war either.

This bridge over the Potomac from Maryland to Virginia had a $12 toll! Made me think the NY tolls were a bargain.

I forgot to add this in the Hershey blog - but this is the notorious Harrisburg PA campground scooter gang, just give them the ice cream and they'll let you go about your business.

Zoe loved seeing her "cousins" playing with woo hoo and their toys. You would have thought she stumbled into a toy store the way her eyes lit up.
